Created at Robert Wilson's Watermill Center , "If you stand still long enough you become a place" is a triptych installation video piece that traces the path of memory and it's relationship to photography.
After shooting 40 rolls of film Chicago and New York over a period of two weeks, I used graphite sketches to recall the form and composition of specific shots before developing them.
I also created a video documenting the original shooting environment that will provide a new context for the photographs.
